Charity Gala by BGaming is an annual fundraising event in Malta dedicated to supporting those in need.
Growing impact together, for the second consecutive year, the Gala is devoted to the DAR Bjorn neurological home that provides care and vital therapies for people with severe neurological conditions.
Following the €200,000 raised last year, the 2026 edition aims to cultivate an even greater and more sustainable impact for DAR Bjorn.
DAR Bjorn is a home for people in Malta living with ALS, MS, and other severe neurological conditions.
Founded by Bjorn Formosa, who worked in iGaming before being diagnosed with ALS at just 28, DAR Bjorn provides hope, dignity, and compassionate care for those facing life-changing illness.
Even after opening two centres in Malta, the need continues to grow. Today, around 60 residents call their centres home, while nearly 800 more people receive support beyond their walls.
To meet this rising demand, a new, larger Respite Centre is being built. With your help, we can equip it with vital medical and care items, ensuring every resident feels supported from the very first day.

Frequently Asked Questions
100% of the funds raised through sponsorships, donations, and ticket sales go directly towards purchasing specialised medical equipment and funding resident rooms at DAR Bjorn. In 2025, the Gala raised €200,000, with the entire sum allocated to the construction of the new Respite Centre. Administrative and event production costs are covered separately by BGaming.
Within 2 months after the Gala, we will share a detailed breakdown of funds raised and their allocation. You can also visit DAR Bjorn in person: the homes in Qormi and Żebbuġ welcome visitors by appointment.
DAR Bjorn operates under the ALS Malta Foundation, a registered voluntary organisation in Malta, VO1200. Tax deductibility depends on your country of residence and local tax legislation. We recommend consulting your tax advisor. Upon request, we can provide an official donation receipt.
The Charity Gala is an invitation-only event. To request an invitation, please fill out the form on this page or email events@bgaming.com. Priority is given to sponsors and their guests, industry partners, and supporters of DAR Bjorn. Availability is limited.
Absolutely. While the Gala has strong roots in the iGaming community, it is open to anyone who wishes to support DAR Bjorn: business leaders, philanthropists, and members of the wider Maltese community are all welcome. What unites our guests is a shared commitment to making a difference.
Your invitation includes entry to the Gala evening, gourmet canapés and drinks, live entertainment, participation in the exclusive raffle, and access to the art auction. The dress code is Black Tie. Gentlemen are encouraged to wear tuxedos or dark suits; ladies, evening gowns or elegant cocktail dresses. The Gala is a night of elegance and purpose, and we invite you to dress to match the occasion.
The Charity Gala 2026 will be held at The Phoenicia Hotel in Valletta on 29th May. The full evening programme will be shared with confirmed guests closer to the date.
The Phoenicia Hotel is located in Valletta, closer to the Triton Fountain. Parking is not available on site. We recommend using a taxi. Detailed directions and transport tips will be sent to confirmed guests along with their invitation.
Yes. Many of our sponsors support the cause without attending in person. You can choose a sponsorship package, make a direct donation, or sponsor a specific item (such as a ventilator or a resident room). All sponsors receive recognition and a post-event impact report. Yes. All sponsors receive brand visibility proportional to their sponsorship tier, which may include logo placement on event materials, the Gala website, press coverage, social media features, and on-site branding at the event. Exact deliverables are outlined in each sponsorship package.
The evening programme includes live music, a curated art auction, a raffle with exclusive premium prizes, gourmet food and beverages from renowned local providers, and special moments that bring DAR Bjorn’s mission to life. The full lineup will be revealed closer to the event date. Follow us on social media for updates.
Every confirmed guest receives one raffle ticket upon registration. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased on-site during the event. Winners are selected randomly via a live draw during the Gala evening. You need to be present at the time of the draw to win. All raffle proceeds go to DAR Bjorn.
The Gala will feature a curated live art auction with unique artworks created especially for the event. In 2025, auction highlights included exclusive paintings by international artists Enivo, Lobot, and L7Matrix, with the highest bid reaching €22,000. Details of this year’s auction lots will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
