Pontoon is deemed to be the British version of the well-known blackjack. Try both games to multiply your winnings!
Pontoon is the ultimate version of blackjack for more experienced players. This British variation has a slightly modified rulebook compared to the classic version of blackjack.
Played with 8 decks of 52 cards each, the player does not see the dealer’s hand until they finish the first round. Pontoon, another term for blackjack, is the traditional ace and face card combination that pays 2 to 1. However, players have the added chance of scoring a Five Card Trick, a sum of any 5 cards in hand not exceeding 21, which automatically grants a similar 2 to 1 win. Unlike the traditional counterpart, in pontoon, the dealer has to hit on 16 and a soft 17. Remember that the dealer shall win if the game round is tied.
Trying the classic version or Blackjack Surrender might make sense if you are new to blackjack. What if you’re up for a new challenge? Then, wait no more. Double down on your skills and strategies in Pontoon!
The goal is to collect cards with a face value higher than the banker’s without exceeding 21. If a combination of cards exceeds 21, it's called a "Bust," resulting in an instant loss in the round.
The game offers two additional winning combinations:
A combination of an 11-point ace and any 10-point card guarantees a doubled win at the beginning of the round for either the player or the dealer.
A combination of any five cards less or equal to 21 pays a 2 to 1 win automatically.
Two cards of equal rank can be splitted. This means separating each card into two hands and placing an equal bet to the initial bet. Then, the game is played for two hands with individual cards and stakes, which doubles the winning possibilities.
Pontoon can be played with three hands at once.
Players can double their bet at any moment by clicking on “x2 double ” and adding one more card to the hand.
