BGaming Hackathon: Beyond Gaming — Celebrating Creativity and Innovation with BGamers

At the end of May, BGamers came together for BGaming’s third Hackathon, aiming to shape the company's gaming future. This event serves as a creative marathon for innovative minds and problem solvers.

During the BGaming Hackathon: Beyond Gaming, teams brainstorm, design, and develop cutting-edge online casino games that are not only entertaining but also add significant value to BGaming's business. Driven by passion, experience, and the excitement of competition, participants collaborate tirelessly for 48 hours, with guidance from individual mentors. Whether it's through coding, design, or inventing new concepts, the Game Hackathon provides a unique opportunity to push boundaries, acquire new skills, and work alongside fellow BGamers to make a meaningful impact in a short amount of time.

BGaming Hackathon: Beyond Gaming brought together 13 teams, each consisting of 4-6 members, to create innovative games over 48 hours, competing for victory. The competition featured four categories:

  • "The Best of the Best" for the game with the most captivating gameplay and emotional design.
  • "Elonovation" for the title with the most original mechanics and theme not yet seen in iGaming.
  • "Picasso's Dreams" for the game with the most outstanding visual design and animation.
  • "BGamers' Choice" for the favorite title as voted by BGamers.

Due to the number of cool projects, the judges decided to add one more award, "Jury’s Choice!"

Each team was required to present a concept or demo of their game with a clear and organized presentation. They needed to discuss the data-driven approach used in game development, highlight the fun mechanics and features, explain what sets their game apart, and emphasize the unique selling points that would attract players. All presented games were judged based on these evaluation criteria:

  • Player retention and engagement mechanics
  • Data-driven development approach
  • Streamer-friendly design
  • Unique character
  • Innovation
  • High-quality presentation.

After showcasing the projects, BGamers voted for their favorites, and the top 3 teams from each category were shortlisted. The final judging was conducted by a jury, who reviewed the shortlisted projects based on their expertise. The winners were then recognized with real-money awards in various categories.

Out of all the events BGaming holds, the BGamers hackathon is by far my favorite. We've been doing this for three years straight, and it just keeps getting more fun and engaging each time. I believe that people can self-organize and perform well together when there's a cool idea behind it — and that's our hackathon. The latest one focused on game production, giving all BGamers the chance to participate in this process. I cannot express enough how great it was to view the presentations; I was smiling the entire time.
